Disgusting Sisters – TGIF (Hot Chip Remix)

Disgusting Sisters release Hot Chip’s remix of “TGIF”, their second single that initially dropped September 10 via SOURCE. The duo, real-life sisters Jules and Josie Hopkins, debuted last year with “Killing It” on Speedy Wunderground before touring with Two Door Cinema Club.

Hot Chip takes “TGIF” into darker territory. They stretch the track out, warp its edges, and build something more hypnotic than the original. The sisters note their longtime admiration for Hot Chip’s approach to off-kilter dance music. Getting them to remix “TGIF” wasn’t something they expected, but the result justifies their excitement.

Filmmaker Maxi McLachlan created an experimental reimagining of the original music video to match the remix’s energy. It’s fragmented and dreamlike, pushing the visual concept further into surreal spaces.

The original “TGIF” received support from Clash, DIY, Ones To Watch, and Still Listening. The duo has built momentum quickly since their debut, earning. This remix marks another step forward for a project that’s only just getting started.
